A Moleskine (mol-a-skeen-a) is a style of notebook claimed to be used by famous artists and writers, such as Picasso, Matisse, Hemingway and Chatwin. A moleskine is bound in oilcloth-covered cardboard (Moleskin) and has an elastic band to hold the notebook closed. The notebook's sewn spine lays flat when opened.
